Traveling With Your Heat-Friendly Synthetic Wig?
Why this fiber is a genuinely easy travel companion.
Heat-Friendly Synthetic hair is a great travel companion. Unlike human hair, it won't dry out from cabin air on a flight, and it doesn't get static-y — so wearing it on a plane, even for long flights, is a perfectly good option.
If you're packing it rather than wearing it, a little squishing in a suitcase or bag won't cause any real damage.
A few travel habits we recommend:
- Keep it with you, not checked, if at all possible — a lost checked bag means a lost wig.
- A carry-on with a shoe compartment works great for packing a wig instead of shoes.
- Wrap it in its own plastic bag, then pack it with tissue paper around it for extra cushioning.
- Wrap the hair in a hairnet before packing to prevent tangling in transit.
- If your style loosens after travel, a quick mist of water is usually enough to refresh it — no need for a full restyle like you might need with human hair.
