How to Measure Your Head for a Wig?

A simple, at-home guide to measuring your head for a SPARX wig — plus how a Fit Kit takes the guesswork out entirely.

Getting your size right matters more than almost anything else in how a wig feels day to day — a cap that's too loose shifts and slips; one that's too tight gives you a headache by noon. The good news: measuring yourself takes about two minutes with a flexible tape measure (a fabric one, not metal).

Three measurements to take:

  1. Circumference — wrap the tape around your head, starting at your hairline in front, around behind your ears, around the back, and back to where you started.
  2. Ear to crown to ear — starting at the top of one ear, measure up and over the crown of your head to the top of the other ear.
  3. Front to back — starting at your hairline in front, measure over the top of your head to the nape of your neck.

How that maps to your size:

Size Circumference Ear to Crown to Ear Front to Back
XXS 19.50" 11.75" 12.75"
XS 20" 12" 13"
Petite 20.50" 12.25" 13.25"
Average 21" 12.50" 13.50"
Large 21.50" 12.75" 13.88"

If your measurements land between two sizes, or you're just not confident doing this alone, you don't have to guess.

Skip it entirely with a Fit Kit.

Book a consultation and we'll send you a Fit Kit — real fitting caps (no hair, just the cap itself) and a color swatch, so you can try the actual sizes on in the privacy of your own home before committing to anything. It takes the measuring tape out of the equation completely.
